–Algona’s annual Founder’s Day celebration is quickly approaching as we enter the last days of June. Algona Communications Manager Joanne Roepke Bode provided the city council with an update on the festivities during their most recent meeting, and she says they will once again kick things off with the Voices from the Past event on Thursday, July 10th.

Roepke Bode says they are moving the location of Saturday’s Kids Bash, taking it out of the downtown area.

Along with the regular activities, Roepke Bode says they are offering some incentives to check out some of Algona’s history during the weekend celebration.

You can find a full list of Founder’s Day activities online at www.algona.org. Anyone who may be interested in volunteering to assist with the activities can contact the Algona Chamber of Commerce at 515-295-7201.
