–The Algona School Board approved the use of an online learning program to teach the upper-level Spanish courses for the high school this year during their meeting this week. Superintendent Joe Carter discussed the reason for this recommendation prior to the board’s vote.

Carter says Logra Learning is the platform they felt best fit the needs of the district.

The agreement will pay Logra Learning based on how many students take Spanish 3 and 4 next year.

Carter says the Spanish position has been advertised for quite some time but attracted no applicants for this coming schoolyear. The district will continue to advertise the opening in an effort to fill it as soon as possible.
