–If you ride a scooter and can demonstrate how to do so in a safe and responsible manner, the City of Algona is looking to reward you. Algona Communications Manager Joanne Roepke Bode tells KLGA News they are trying to encourage safety among scooter riders.

Riders who show how they ride safely can win prizes from area businesses.

Roepke Bode says riders will need a little help with their entries.

They hope the contest will help make riders aware of the basic traffic rules of the road, like stopping at stop signs and looking both ways before entering an intersection.

Any pictures or videos can be submitted by emailing jrbode@algonaiowa.gov of by tagging the City of Algona is a social media post. If you have questions, contact City Hall by calling 515-295-2411.
