–A longtime area businessman announced Wednesday that he will seek the 4th District seat on the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors in 2026. Barry Boland spoke with KLGA News shortly after announcing his intentions during a live interview at the Kossuth County Fair.
Boland says he does have public service experience to go along with years of working in the private sector.
With a little less than a year to go before the primary election, Boland says he is still crafting his campaign message.
Boland says he knows the 4th district well and is ready to serve.
Boland plans to seek the Republican Party nomination for the 4th District, meaning he would need to defeat current Supervisor Kyle Stecker in a primary election. Stecker has not made any indication at this point if he intends to seek a 3rd term next year.
