–Work on the fieldhouse at Algona High School is nearly complete as students and athletes will soon be able to fully use the brand new facility. During their meeting on Monday, the Algona School Board approved a handful of change orders to make some final alterations over the next few weeks. Superintendent Joe Carter says they’re excited to see the work come to an end.

Carter says the areas already in use are doing exactly what they were designed for.

While the number of change orders needed to finish the project has grown, Carter says there are some things to keep in mind.

While students will be using the facility within the week, the school is planning an official ribbon cutting ceremony for late September.
