–A second suspect is now in custody in connection with a burglary at a rural residence near Corwith earlier this summer.

According to the Kossuth Couty Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 61-year-old Carroll Dwight Buckalew on Monday for allegedly burglarizing a farm house in June.

A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court alleges two men entered and burglarized a home 2 miles southwest of Corwith in the early morning hours of June 29th. The resident provided video from inside the residence showing 2 men entering the home with flashlights and gloves. The resident stated that they recognized one of the men’s voices from the video, identifying him as Bodie Coker, who has already been apprehended in connection with this case.

Deputies found a vehicle belonging to Buckalew at Coker’s residence, and determined he was the second suspect in the video. An arrest warrant was issued at the time for Buckalew, and he was taken into custody Monday afternoon on a charge of 3rd Degree Burglary.

Buckalew is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on Friday, August 29th.
