–A Swea City man was taken into custody earlier this week after law enforcement officials conducted a warrant check in Algona.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 55-year-old Jamie Concepcion Esparza after conducting the warrant check in Algona just before 9:30 AM Wednesday. Esparza was wanted on a charge of violating his probation in a case that dates back just over one year.
Court records show that Esparza was charged with 2nd Degree Theft and 3rd Degree Burglary, both Class D felonies, in late of August of 2024. Esparaza ended up pleading guilty to a reduced charge and was sentenced to 5-years of probation.
On August 21st, the Kossuth County Attorney’s office filed a motion to revoke Esparza’s probation, and a bench warrant was issued at that time. He is now scheduled to have a probation revocation hearing on September 15th in Kossuth County District Court.
