–The City of Algona alerting the public to a scam that has been reported in the by at least one area business. Algona City Administrator Jacob Tjaden tells KLGA News that they were contacted by an area business that had received an invoice that at first glance appeared to be from the city.
Tjaden there are little things included in these scam messages that should se off some red flags if you receive one.
The city is trying to put the word out so nobody is caught off guard by one of these scam messages and ends up losing money.
If you receive an invoice that seems suspicious you can report it to City Hall by calling. 515-295-2411.
