–The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office recently completed a fundraising effort to help support their K9 Officer program. Sheriff Roger Fisher says they are grateful to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket, as the funds help supplement the department’s K9 budget.
Fisher says the initial costs of purchasing a K9 and then training the animal can vary.
The fact that K9’s will need to be replaced on a much more frequent basis than a typical Deputy means the Department needs to make sure funding is available when needed.
