This is school bus safety awareness week. Trooper Paul Gardner with the Iowa State Patrol says drivers need to remember the buses are out there every week day through the school year.
Gardner says drivers need to be aware of the signals that buses use when they are about to stop and let children out.
The Iowa State Patrol conducts bus inspections for school districts across the state to look for any problems with the vehicles.
National School Bus Safety Week is held during the third week of October every year.
