–The Algona Police Department has recently hired a pair of new officers to fill vacancies within their ranks. Chief Bo Miller introduced the new officers to the city council during their meeting earlier this week.
Hough is an Algona native who says he is looking forward to working in his hometown.
Jergens grew up in the Mallard area and comes from a family of law enforcement members.
Since both officers still need their state certification, Hough and Jergens will need to complete training at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston.
