–The Kossuth County Retired Senior Volunteer Program is looking for area residents who would be interested in corresponding with elementary students through their Pen Pal program. Deb Jordan serves as the local RSVP Coordinator through Iowa Lakes Community College, and she tells KLGA News they are lining up volunteers now so they can begin writing letters in January.
The senior volunteers will interact with 3rd or 4th grade students from Algona, Bishop Garrigan, and North Union Schools. Jordan says while they encourage past volunteers to come back, they are always looking for new writers.
Jordan says the senior volunteers will write the first letter to students this year, and they do provide help if they have some writer’s block.
