–Law Enforcement officials in Kossuth County say a missing 5-year-old is caught up in a custody dispute and believe the boy is with relatives in Wisconsin.

The Iowa Missing Person Information Clearinghouse lists 5-year-old Douglas Jonathan Zane Roth as missing since November 1st.

Kossuth County Sheriff Roger Fisher tells KLGA News that the matter is being handled as a custody dispute between the boy’s parents. The child’s father, Douglas Roth Sr., is a Kossuth County resident, who authorities believe took the boy to Wisconsin and has not brought him back for court hearings.

Douglas Roth Sr. is currently wanted on warrants for contempt of court and violating a custodial order. Law Enforcement in Iowa and Wisconsin have not been able to locate him as of this morning.

Fisher says they are working with authorities in Wisconsin to try and locate the boy, who is believed to be with a grandparent. Once that confirmation is made, they will make arrangements to bring the boy back to Kossuth County.
