–If you’re looking for a way to work up your appetite before a Thanksgiving feast, the Algona Rotary Club is hosting their annual “Turkey Trot” Thursday morning. Rotary spokesperson Justin Davis tells KLGA News this is a fun way to start your holiday and raise funds for those in need at the same time.
The event features a 1K or 5K run/walk options with registration beginning at 8AM inside the Algona Chamber office with the race starting around 8:30 AM down the street by the PMC Advantage office. Davis says he moved the start down the street to meet the needs of running purists.
The forecast calls for sunny skies with cold temperatures Thursday morning, but Davis says they’ll run no matter the weather conditions.
All donations made as entry fees for the race will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the PMC Advantage Insurance Agency in downtown Algona to benefit the Kossuth County Food Pantry.
