–Authorities have identified a Storm Lake man as the person who was killed in a rollover accident along Iowa Highway 3 near Humboldt Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 83-year-old Paul Bengston was eastbound on Highway 3 in a 2020 Ford Edge just after 1 PM Wednesday. The accident report states that Bengston crossed the centerline for an unknown reason, over corrected, and entered the ditch. At that point, Bengston’s vehicle struck a driveway 3 miles east of Humboldt and rolled multiple times.
Bengston, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Humboldt Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident.
