–The kickoff event for Algona’s “Frostbite Olympics” next week is looking for a few more contestants to sign up. Rhonda Ostwald with the Algona Soroptimist Club tells KLGA News that they need two or three more participants for the soup contest on Thursday, February 5th at the Algona VFW Hall.
Ostwald says if you have a favorite recipe you would like to share, you could take home top honors.
For years this event was only a chili cookoff, but Ostwald says they wanted to offer some different options.
