–The Kossuth County man who was arrested in Wisconsin last month for allegedly kidnapping his 5-year-old son has been returned to Iowa to face multiple charges.

33-year-old Douglas John Roth, formerly of Titonka, was transported to the Kossuth County Jail last Thursday and booked on charges of 3rd Degree Kidnapping, Violation of a Custodial Order, and Contempt of Court.

Roth is accused of taking his son to Wisconsin and keeping him with relatives in violation of a custodial order. He was arrested on January 19th after authorities executed a search warrant at his parents’ home in rural Rusk County, Wisconsin and found the missing child.

Roth is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on Monday, February 9th, and is currently being held on a $25,000 cash bond.

Roth’s parents are facing charges in Wisconsin for keeping the missing child at their residence and obstructing law enforcement’s efforts to find their son.
