–The Algona School Board approved bids to replace the lights at Bulldog Stadium and the roof over part of the high school building during their meeting this week. Superintendent Joe Carter says they received bids from Musco Lighting and Dean Meyer Electric for the stadium project.
The board approved the bid from Dean Meyer Electric for $189,459 for the stadium light replacement. Carter then went through the bids received to replace the roof covering the a good portion of the high school building.
Carter says the extra items in the higher bid make it the better option.
The board ended up approving the bid from Northern Cedar Services for $248,374. Each of the projects will be paid for with the districts Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL) funds, and not with money from the general fund. Work on the projects is scheduled to take place later this year.
