–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors selected an architect to design an Emergency Response Complex during their meeting on Tuesday. The board received proposals from three firms, and 4th District Supervisor Kyle Stecker wants to make sure the everyone is on the same page with the design team.

5th District Supervisor Amber Garman indicated her preference for the firm Bergland and Cram of Mason City before the board voted unanimously to accept their proposal.

Late last year, Kossuth Regional Health Center approached county officials with the idea of purchasing the EMS facility attached to the hospital. At that time, discussions began as to where the county could move their EMS operation, eventually landing on the county owned building along South Phillips Street in Algona. The board will now look at designs to see if housing the EMS facility at that location is a viable option.
