–The Kossuth County Historical Society will be hosting a meal in Algona next week as they continue to celebrate the county’s 175th birthday. Jan Ricke with the Historical Society, says they will be at Bub’s Pie Shop in downtown Algona on Monday (March 2nd).
Ricke says this type of meal dates back to the county’s early days.
When these events were hosted in the 1800’s, Ricke says they drew a crowd.
The meal will be offered for a free will donation, with a suggested donation of at least $10. Money raised will help offset costs and assist with future celebrations this year.
