–A pair of North Central Iowa men were killed, and two others were injured following early morning crash Wednesday along Highway 18 in rural Hancock County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 46-year-old Angel Ruiz-Tamayo of Clarion was westbound on Highway 18 in a 2004 Chevy Silverado just after 4:30 AM Wednesday. The accident report states that Ruiz-Tamayo lost control due to icy road conditions and crossed the centerline 3 miles west of Garner, colliding with an eastbound Kia Sorento, driven by 51-year-old Jason Foell of Britt.
Ruiz-Tamayo and a passenger in his truck, identified as 40-year-old Constantino Cruz Barradas of Goodell, died as a result of the collision. Foell was transported to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, along with a second passenger in Ruiz-Tamayo vehicle, identified as 41-year-old Tomas San Juan Ruiz of Belmond.
The accident remains under investigation.
