–The Algona City Council set public hearing dates and approved plans for a pair of street improvement projects during their meeting on Monday. Matt Cole with Bolton & Menk discussed the mill and overlay project that will be completed this summer.
Mill and overlay work will take place on parts of Call, Jones, Thorington, and Woodworth Streets later this year. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden discussed the financial aspects of the street work.
This project will include work in two separate parts of Thorington Street, first from Call to State, and also from McGregor to Overmeyer Drive. It will also include work on Call Street between Hall and Moore, along Woodworth Street from North to Call, and along Jones Street between Kennedy and Grove. Cole says they will also be doing some crack sealing.
The public hearing for each project will be held during the council’s meeting on April 20th, with the contracts to be awarded later that evening.
