–The list of primary candidates for local races in June shows none of the incumbents on the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors will seek reelection this year.

The filing deadline for local races in Iowa was Friday (3/20), and the list of candidates provided by the Kossuth County Auditor’s office shows Carter Nath, Josh Waechter, and Kyle Stecker did not file the paperwork to seek another term on the board.

Despite the fact that none of the current board members are seeking reelection, there are contested primary races for each of those three seats.

In District #1, Bruce Pfeffer of Wesley and Mike Genrich of LuVerne are each seeking the Republican party nomination, while Lany Mitchell of Wesley is the only name on the Democratic party’s primary ballot.

In District #3, Gary David Miller and Christopher Zinnel, both of Algona, will each seek the Republican party nomination.

In District #4, Barry Boland of Swea City and Rodney Beenken of Titonka will be on the ballot for the Republican party.

County Treasurer Nick Rahm will not seek another term either. Connie Ludwig, who currently works in the Treasurer’s Office, is the only name listed on the primary ballot as she will seek the Republican party nomination.

County Attorney Todd Holmes and Recorder Karen Benschoter are both seeking reelection, as each is unopposed in the primary and no other names are listed on the ballot.

Primary elections will be held across Iowa on Tuesday, June 2nd.
