–Pioneer Hi Bred is celebrating it’s 100th birthday in 2026, marking a century of revolutionizing farming practices across the country. Founded by Henry Wallace in 1926, the Des Moines based company set up facilities in and around Kossuth County shortly thereafter. Todd Eastvold serves as the Production Location Manager for the Pioneer facility in Algona, and he says they have some fun activities planned for Monday to help celebrate the milestone.
While Pioneer is celebrating birthday 100 in 2026, Eastvold says the Algona facility will be recognizing their own milestone in just a couple of years.
Eastvold says there have been drastic changes over the last 80 plus years at the Algona plant.
The Algona facility kicked off the 100th birthday celebration last week by hosting the chamber coffee.
