–A Ledyard man is facing multiple theft related charges after being taken into custody late last week.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 28-year-old Jacob Mikel Govern just before 12 PM Friday in connection with an alleged incident in early April. Online court records show an arrest warrant was issued for Govern on Friday based on an incident that allegedly occurred on April 6th.

A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that officials with State Line Coop reported a theft had occurred on April 6th. The complaint alleges that a vehicle could be seen on surveillance footage, in which the driver stopped and used tools to cut a lock before allegedly taking fuel from the coop. Deputies identified the vehicle as Govern’s, and an arrest warrant was issued last Friday following an investigation into the incident.

Govern has been charged with Possession of Burglar Tools, 5th Degree Theft, 5th Degree Criminal Mischief, and Trespassing. He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on April 28th.
