–Over a dozen students at Iowa Lakes Community College used their time over spring break to volunteer with organizations that support underserved communities in the Chicago area. Brett Fuelberth is a Music Professor at Iowa Lakes who also assists with the Laker Life Campus Ministry, and he tells KLGA News these students worked with two different groups that serve both children and adults.

Fuelberth says it’s a rewarding trip for those who choose service over leisure during spring break.

Members of the Laker Life Campus Ministry have been doing spring break mission trips for over a decade.

Fuelberth says they have partnered with Breakthrough Ministries and By the Hand Club for Kids over the last few years.

The group of 13 Iowa Lakes students who served on the week-long trip come from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado and Florida. Anyone who would like more information on the Laker Life Campus Ministry program can contact Fuelberth by calling 712-362-7963 or go online to www.iowalakes.edu/campus-life/clubs-organizations/laker-life/.
