North Union Warriors senior golfer Drew Henderson capped off his high school career on Wednesday at the class 1A state tournament at the Westwood Golf Club with the highest state finish of his career, as Henderson placed 3rd in the individual standings.
Henderson shot a 72 over the 18 holes on day one of the meet Tuesday, following that up with a 71 on Wednesday’s day two for a final tally of 143, just one over par. Henderson trailed only Cody Weaver of East Marshall (136) and Keith Thompson from Hamburg (142) in the final standings, while finishing one stroke ahead of 4th place Carter Kleinwolterink of Boyden-Hull and five strokes ahead of 5th place Sid Hesse from South Winneshiek.
Henderson was able to hit par or better on 29 of the 36 holes over the two days. That broke down to 22 holes hitting par and seven birdies.
Over the past three seasons, Henderson has made three appearances at the class 1A state meet, finishing in the top ten all three times, medaling twice, and improving his placing each year. The Warrior senior placed 9th in 2024 and 7th in 2025 prior to this year’s third place finish.
