–Algona scored 3 times in the bottom of the 5th inning to break a 2-2 tie as the Bulldogs topped St. Ansgar 5-2 in non-conference action Thursday. Regan Haynes doubled and drove in 3 runs for Algona to lead the offense, while Katie and Alison Trunkhill scattered 10 hits over 7 innings in the circle. Katie started and threw the first 4 innings, allowing a run on 6 hits, striking out 2, while Alison picked up the win in relief throwing the final 3 innings, allowing a run on 4 hits, walking 1 and striking out 4. Algona improves to 14-4 on the season with the win.
