–A Bancroft man is facing charges after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun during a domestic disturbance Sunday morning.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Bancroft Police responded to a domestic incident around 3:30 AM Sunday, and after conducting a brief investigation, arrested 37-year-old Max Charles Laubenthal. The complaint alleges that Laubenthal threatened to shoot his girlfriend during an argument and that several weapons were present inside the residence.
Laubenthal has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault while Displaying or Using a Weapon, an Aggravated Misdemeanor. He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Records indicate he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on July 2nd.
Court records also show that a no contact order has been issued to prevent Laubenthal from having any contact with the alleged victim in this case.
