–The 56th annual Fenton Sweet Corn Day’s celebration kicks off Saturday morning with festivities planned through Sunday.
City-wide garage sales begin at 8 AM will be followed by a parade at 10:30 AM. The parade will pay tribute to America’s 250th birthday, along with Kossuth County’s 175th birthday and the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Fenton Forward’s 4-H Club.
Following the parade, the Friends of the Library will serve a meal from 11AM-1PM at the Shelter house, which will be followed by different activities throughout the afternoon.
A street dance is scheduled from 8-11 PM featuring the Blue Dirt Road band, with a Fireworks display at 10 PM.
The festivities continue on Sunday with a church service in the park, followed by the sweet corn meal from 11:30 AM-1 PM. The Fenton Forwards will serve Ice Cream in the shelter house after the meal, with various kid-friendly activities throughout the afternoon.
