–The Kossuth County Historical Society will host their 8th annual Cemetery Walk Wednesday evening in the rural Fenton area. Bill Farnham is helping to organize the event for the Kossuth Historical Society, and he tells KLGA News this year they will be visiting the Blakjer Lutheran Cemetery.
Prior to visiting the cemetery, Farnham says they will tour the historic Blakjer Lutheran Church and then head across the street to the Lone Rock museum.
Kossuth County has around nearly 40 different cemeteries, and Farnham says they plan to hold events each year until they have visited each of them.
The Blakjer Lutheran Church is located at 301 Front Street in Lone Rock, as participants can tour the building beginning at 5 PM. From there, they will take a quick look at the Lone Rock Historical Museum and then head to the cemetery, which is located 4 miles northeast of Fenton at 3507 30th Avenue. The walk is scheduled to begin at 6 PM and anyone interested in attending is encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
