–A Lakota man is facing multiple charges after he was found parked on a county road near Bancroft late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 24-year-old Jeron Lucas Koppen just after 2 AM Friday on charges of OWI-2nd Offense.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Deputies received a report around 2 AM Friday that a vehicle was parked on the travel portion of County Road A42 south of Bancroft. The complaint goes on to say that when Deputies located the vehicle, they found Koppen asleep inside, sitting behind the wheel while it was running. Deputies noted that Koppen seemed confused and had watery, bloodshot eyes at the time, and could not recall where he was headed.
Deputies administered a field sobriety test before placing Koppen under arrest. Along with the OWI charge, he was also cited for having an open container of alcohol.
