A Fort Dodge man faces murder and attempted murder charges after a fatal shooting happened outside a Fort Dodge bar early Saturday morning.
According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, an officer on patrol reportedly saw a man firing rounds from a handgun into a crowd.
Police say the officer exchanged gunfire with the suspect before he fled the area on foot. Webster County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to apprehend the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Jamarcus Gully of Fort Dodge, a short distance from the scene.
Gully has been charged with first degree murder, two counts of attempted murder and attempted murder of a peace officer. The unnamed officer involved in the incident was not injured. The names of the shooting victims have not been released.
