Wet conditions across Iowa slowed the harvest again last week with very little work getting done in fields in the state.
The latest USDA crop report says there was just one day suitable for fieldwork for the week that ended Sunday.
The total amount of corn harvested across Iowa only increased by 1% from last week to 5% overall, and currently sits about 9% behind last year.
The soybean harvest also only went up 1% for a total of 3% harvested statewide. That is now 12% behind last year.
Crop experts say there is still time to catch up if we get some dry weather soon, but harvest may stretch into parts of November this year.
