–The Algona Fire Department will make their way through the community tonight conducting Operation EDITH. EDITH stands for Exit Drills in the Home, and Assistant Fire Chief Tony Rahm tells KLGA News they hope families will take time to participate.
Rahm says they will have plenty of firefighters on hand to blanket the community as quickly as possible.
If you can’t participate tonight, Rahm says having a plan for what to do in an emergency situation can save lives.
Operation EDITH is being conducted as part of National Fire Prevention Week, and Rahm says it’s a busy week around the fire station.
Operation EDITH will start at 6 PM, and residents are encouraged to go outside with their families when they see and hear a firetruck in the neighborhood.
