–A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday morning at the Algona Municipal Airport to dedicate a new commemorative marker on the site of the WII Prisoner of War Camp. Jerry Helmers with the Camp Algona POW Museum addressed the crowd and spoke with KLGA News about the new display that the public can come out and see anytime.
Helmers says the display was just completed in the days prior to the dedication.
Helmers says you can get a feel for where things really were back in the 1940’s.
The display is lighted from sundown to sunrise so it can be viewed at any time.
