–Members of the Kossuth County Fair Board discussed needed renovations to the grandstand at the fairgrounds with the Board of Supervisors this week. Fair Board member Joe Thilges addressed the board and stated that the grandstands are over 90-years-old and are starting to show their age.
Thilges says the grandstands are well used during the summer months and during the fair.
Thilges says they want the county to know how badly these renovations are needed.
The Supervisors took no action on the matter during the meeting, but they did advise the Fair Board to begin seeking private donations, as looming property tax cuts at the state level will likely tighten the county’s budget by a couple of million dollars.
