–The City of Algona will host an open house at the new Tietz Park Shelter House Friday morning.
The Parks and Recreation Department will host the open house from 9:30 AM-12 PM Friday, providing the public with a walk-through of the new shelter house. Coffee and light refreshments will be available.
The Tietz Park Shelter House is located at the corner of North Finn Drive and East State Street. The enclosed portion of the building is available for rent year-round and is heated and air conditioned. The 49-person capacity shelter features an interior and exterior restroom, refrigerator, large counter, banquet tables and chair.
The cost to rent the Tietz Park Shelter House has been set at $150 a day, with a $200 damage deposit that will be returned in full if all rules are followed and no damage occurs. The shelter house at Veteran’s Park is also available to rent, at a rate of $100 per day, with a $200 damage deposit.
