–With numbers at their highest level in over a decade, the Algona Middle School Band program is facing a shortage of available instruments. Band Instructor Kurt Kissinger tells KLGA News that the high participation rates in band are a good problem to have.
To help provide instruments for those students, Kissinger says they are looking for donations from the public of any used instruments they may have lying around the house.
With less than 3 weeks left in the school year, Kissinger says they’ll need to fill the instrument void soon.
While all instruments will be accepted, Kissinger says they are in particular need of Flutes, Clarinets, Trombones, Tenor Saxophones, and Trumpets. If you have an instrument you would like to donate, you can drop it off at the High School/Middle School office or at the Central Administration office. Cash donations will also be accepted.
