Three Algona residents were sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle accident on Saturday in Southern Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident happened shortly after 12:30 PM Saturday, at the intersection of Highway 169 and 30th St, just North of Elmore, Minnesota

The patrol says a 2009 Dodge Journey driven by 27-year-old Danyer Narajno of Algona and a 2014 GMC Utility vehicle driven by 19-year-old Madalyn Reifsteck of Cedarville, Illinois, were both southbound on Highway 169 when the vehicles collided at the intersection.

Both drivers and two passengers in the Narajno vehicle, 43-year-old Wilbur Bordanado and 25-year-old Beatriz Machado, both of Algona, were taken to the Blue Earth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office, Blue Earth and Elmore Fire Departments and Blue Earth Ambulance assisted at the scene.
