–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors held further discussion, but took no action once again, on the proposed changes to county’s Zoning Ordinance with regards to hazardous liquid pipelines during their meeting Tuesday. Supervisor Jack Plathe attempted to reassure those in attendance that the board is not pushing the proposed changes down the road.

Supervisor Carter Nath reiterated Plathe’s comments.

The county Planning and Zoning Commission recommended some changes to setbacks that would regulate where a Carbon Capture Pipeline could run through the county. The board made their comments following a closed session Tuesday Morning where they discussed a petition to the Iowa Utilities Board to Dismiss the Hazardous Liquid Pipeline Permit from Summit Carbon Solutions, one of the companies trying to build a CO2 Pipeline that would go through Kossuth County.
