–A New York Jazz Artist will be in Algona Saturday, offering a free performance and harmonica lessons to area residents. Algona Public Library Director Lori Walton tells KLGA News that Yvonnick Prene will be at the Wilcox Performing Arts Center Saturday night.
Walton says it’s not too late to participate for anyone interested.
Walton says it was Prene that first contacted them about coming to Algona.
Prene was born in Paris and relocated to New York City while attending Sorbonne University. The professional jazz musician, bandleader, composer and educator has released six albums since 2013. The free concert will begin at 7 PM Saturday at the Wilcox PAC, with doors opening at 6:30 PM. If you would like a harmonica, you can call the Algona Public Library at 515-295-5476.
