–A Wesley woman is the latest recipient of the “1440 Citizen of the Month” award from the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office.
Kossuth County Sheriff Roger Fisher announced this week Lany Mitchell is the October “1440” winner. Mitchell serves as the librarian and community center organizer in Wesley and was nominated for fostering a love for reading and learning amongst individuals of all ages.
Mitchell’s nomination form states “Lany fosters a sense of belonging, unity and cultural appreciation among area residents. She is know to facilitate children’s reading programs that lay the foundation for lifelong learning.”
