Ruthven Women Facing Multiple Drug Charges After Report of Suspicious Package

–A Ruthven woman is facing multiple drug charges after law enforcement officials responded to the report of a suspicious package Monday morning.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s, Deputies received the report of a suspicious package from the post office in Ruthven around 8:45 AM Monday. As a part of that investigation, Deputies ended up executing a search warrant at a residence on Washington Street in Ruthven just after 12:30 PM, where they found narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the search, Deputies arrested 34-year-old Cora Cowen on charges of Conspiracy to Deliver Marijuana under 50 kilograms, a Class D Felony. Cowen is also facing charges of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (Class D Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine-1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana-2nd offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Cowen was booked into the Palo Alto County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
