–Multiple juvenile suspects have been taken into custody after threats were allegedly made against schools in Palo Alto County last week.
According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies investigated the report of a threat of terrorism which had occurred at the Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School just after 5:30 PM Friday. As a result of this investigation, Deputies charged a 16-year-old with Making a Threat of Terrorism, a Class D Felony. Those charges have been forwarded to the Juvenile Court Services.
Just after 7 PM Saturday, Deputies received the report of a threat made on a social media platform against the GT/RA School District. An investigation was initiated by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Palo Alto County Attorney, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the FBI.
On Sunday, a juvenile suspect was identified, and with assistance from the Eagle Grove Police Department, that juvenile suspect was located. This juvenile has also been charged with Making Threats of Terrorism, a Class D Felony. This case has also been referred to Juvenile Court Services.
