–The Haggard-Twogood Charitable Trust is teaming with Ballet Des Moines to host a special presentation of The Nutcracker this week at the Wilcox Performing Arts Center in Algona. Blaire Massa is the CEO of Ballet Des Moines, and she tells KLGA News they truly enjoy bringing this performance to our community.
Massa says the performance will feature some things you may not normally see in The Nutcracker.
Along with the professionals from Des Moines, several area youth will be part of the performance. Massa says they truly enjoy working with young dancers down in the Des Moines area and up here as well.
Massa says they really try to get young dancers to enjoy the experience of being on stage.
Massa says you may hear professionals’ joke about performing The Nutcracker again during the holiday season, but make no mistake, they are all excited as well.
Performances will be held Wednesday and Thursday beginning at 6:30 PM inside the Wilcox Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at Algona Publishing, Bloom Floral, and by following the link below.
