–The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Department has officially joined the Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force, joining with law enforcement agencies from across 7 counties across the area. Lt. Casey Timmer serves as a Narcotics investigator with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, and he heads up the task force. He says they meet on a regular basis to share intelligence on drug related cases.
The task force’s executive committee approved the addition during a meeting in late December. The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors authorized Sheriff Roger Fisher to sign a 28E agreement with the task force in early January. Fisher says the information available to his deputies by being part of the task force is incredibly valuable.
Deputy Jake Radmaker will serve as Kossuth County’s representative on the task force, as he has already been attending their meetings for almost two years. Fisher says officially joining the task force won’t divide his department’s responsibilities.
Fisher says being a part of the task force will help Kossuth County with more than just drug investigations.
The Iowa Great Lakes Drug Task Force is comprised of Sheriff’s Departments from Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Palo Alto, O’Brien and Osceola counties, as well as Police Departments from Arnolds Park, Estherville, Emmetsburg, Lake Park, Milford, Okoboji, Sheldon, Spencer and Spirit Lake. The task force owns and maintains equipment purchased with forfeiture funds that are made available to all member agencies for use.
