Iowa Lakes Receives FAA Grant

–Iowa Lakes Community College is one of three in Iowa that is receiving federal funding for their Aviation Program.

The announcement was made by Senator Chuck Grassley’s office over the weekend, with the funding coming from the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2018.

Iowa Lakes will receive a grant of $493,657 that will be used to boost interest and enrollment in the aviation program, increase the availability of financial assistance and to prepare area high school participants for high-demand aviation careers.

Along with Iowa Lakes, Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs will receive a grant of $500,000 to advance outreach, upgrade instructional equipment and increase the availability of financial assistance. Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa will receive a grant of $302,816 to also upgrade instructional equipment and increase financial support to students.
