–An updated draft of Kossuth County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for area residents to review and make comments. Kossuth County Emergency Management Coordinator Charissa Mueller tells KLGA News the plan is updated every five years and looks at the threats facing Kossuth County and its residents.
Mueller says the plan is a blueprint for area residents to assist them in disaster and emergency situations.
Mueller says you can view the document by going online to www.jeo.com/KossuthCountyHMP.
The draft is available for review and comment through April 17th, after which it will be submitted to the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEMD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for review and approval.
