–Six people were injured following a 2-vehicle collision in southern Kossuth County late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 27-year-old Taylor Fehr of West Bend was traveling northbound on County Road P40 in a 2012 Ford F450 truck around 5PM on Friday, April 26th. Fehr stopped at the intersection with County Road B63, 3 miles east of West Bend, and pulled out in front of a 2013 Chevy Traverse, driven by 33-year-old Sebastian Bailey of Emmetsburg.
Fehr told deputies that he did not see anyone approaching before T-boned by Bailey’s vehicle, and he did not report any injuries.
Bailey was taken to Kossuth Regional Health Center by Algona EMS with what were described as non-incapacitating injuries. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 35-year-old Candace Cribb of Emmetsburg, was taken to Palo Alto County Health System by West Bend EMS after reporting possible injuries. Four juvenile passengers, ranging in age from 1-6 were also transported from the scene by ambulance, with one suffering serious injuries.
Fehr was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way, with damage to his vehicle estimated at $2,500. Damage to Bailey’s vehicle was estimated at $15,000.
